Bhubaneswar: The Capital City witnessed a sharp decline in COVID-19 cases with 211 new positive cases registered in the last 24 hours against 345 of the previous day. It had reported 341 new cases on Thursday.
Of the new cases on the day, 63 were from quarantine and 148 were local contacts, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) stated in its tweet.
Patia reported the highest of 25 cases, followed by 16 from Khandagiri, and 11 each from Nayapalli and Chandrasekharpur.
Five more patients have succumbed to the disease in the city in the last 24 hours, taking the toll to 465.
As many as 272 patients have recovered from the infection while the city has 1,241 active cases.
Till now, 89,392 patients have recovered from the virus. The total number of cases in Bhubaneswar has now gone up to 91,119.
