Bhubaneswar: Amid the raging storm Yaas, which saw testing being stalled in likely-to-be-affected districts, Odisha saw a drop in new COVID-19 cases on Thursday. A total of 6,736 of 46,241 samples tested positive for the deadly virus in the last 24 hours.
The state had seen 11623 cases the previous day.
According to the I & PR Department, 3774 among the fresh infections are from quarantine and 2962 local contacts.
Angul registered the highest of 788 new cases, followed by Sundargarh (720) and Khurda (517).
