The Shapoorji Pallonji Group has reached out to people of Puri who lost their livelihood during the severe cyclonic storm Fani.
Members of the group visited Gandamunda Bhoi and Bila Bhoi gram panchayats under Puri Sadar block on Thursday and distributed relief material among the affected families.
The kits included shelter items like tarpaulin and rope, household kits like plates and tumblers, sleeping mats, buckets and mugs, toiletries like soaps, towels, toothbrushes and toothpaste and mosquito coils and sanitary napkins. Chlorine tablets were provided to the families, as groundwater in the area is feared to have got contaminated.
Relief material was distributed among 75 families. Jagadish Chandra Rout, associate vice-president, Corporate Affairs and Communications, Shapoorji Pallonji Port Maintenance Limited, said: “Shapoorji Pallonji Group is committed to the noble cause of serving the people of cyclone affected districts of Puri.”
