Mumbai: Indians have welcomed the election of Kamala Harris as the USA’s first-ever female vice-president and toasted her Indian origin.
Actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha was one of them, taking pride in revealing his family’s association with US vice-president elect.
Sinha took to Twitter to inform his fans and followers that his niece Preet Sinha, daughter of his elder brother, was closely associated with Kamala.
“Heartiest congratulations! As the world is overjoyed with your @JoeBiden spectacular & most deserving win! Also we must not forget the desirable, elegant, wonderful, intelligent intellectual par excellence @KamalaHarris on her most expected win. Kudos!”

Among other Bollywood celebrities to laud Harris’ historic victory was Kareena Kapoor. She shared a picture with a quote by Kamala and wrote: “My mother would look at me and she’d say, ‘Kamala, you may be the first to do many things. But make sure you are not the last’.”
