Bhubaneswar: Forest and environment minister Bijayshree Routray on Wednesday said his department officials have identified the tunnel of the sheep killer inside Bhanra forest near Niali in Cuttack district.
“Based on the investigation after verifying the pug marks, we suspect a wolf or a pack of wolves from nearby forest might be killing the sheep and attacking human beings. The officials have been asked to intensify night patrolling at Niali and nearby areas to trace and catch the animal,” the minister said.
A youth of Bengali Sahi in Niali was reportedly attacked by the unidentified animal on Tuesday night. He had gone outside the house to attend nature’s call when the incident took place. He sustained injuries on his back.
