Mortal remains of Sheila Dikshit, the three-time chief minister of Delhi and senior Congress leader, were consigned to fire at Nigambodh Ghat in New Delhi on Sunday.
She was accorded a state funeral. The Delhi government had also declared two-day mourning in the national capital as a mark of respect for her.
Dikshit breathed her last at Fortis Escorts Hospital on Saturday afternoon after suffering a cardiac arrest. She was the longest-serving chief minister of Delhi from 1998 to 2013.
