Dhenkanal: The Dhenkanal Sadar Police on Thursday took the managing director (MD) of the NGO, Good News India, Fayaz Rahman on a fresh remand of two days for further interrogation in the alleged sexual harassment of minor girls and boys at a shelter home in the district.
On completion of the two-day remand period, police had produced Rahman before the Special POCSO Court at 5 pm on Wednesday. Since the investigation is underway, police had appealed to the court for another three-day remand of the MD to which the latter granted them two days.

Talking to mediapersons, Dhenkanal SP Santosh Nayak said the police during the two-day remand had collected vital information from Rahman. “If the police manage to get more information from him, they will appeal to the court to take the two arrested employees of the NGO—project director and in-charge of the shelter home Simanchal Nayak and assistant director Udit Kumar Lima—on remand for interrogation for verifying facts,” he added.
The SP had interrogated Nayak in the Dhenkanal jail on Wednesday evening.
About the 11 missing minor girls of the shelter home, the SP said the police have got to know the whereabouts of 10 of them, who are now in Odisha, while efforts are on to trace the remaining one.
