‘She’s Pregnant, Have Some Shame’: Deepika Padukone Fans Defend Her Over Fake Sonam Wangchuk Screenshot

Mumbai: Deepika Padukone’s fans have come out in her support after a fake AI-generated screenshot went viral, falsely claiming that the actress had expressed support for activist Sonam Wangchuk, who is currently on an indefinite hunger strike in Delhi over the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak.

Calling out trolls for targeting Deepika, who is currently in the third trimester of her second pregnancy, fans urged them to “have some shame” and stop spreading misleading content.

The viral post allegedly showed Deepika sharing an Instagram Story featuring a photo of Wangchuk, along with the caption, “He is fasting. We are scrolling.”

The post continued, “Why is no one speaking about this? We are living through the darkest hour of democracy.”

It further claimed that Deepika wrote, “No matter how many films are made to glorify a failed leader, the reality remains unchanged.”

The post was reportedly deleted within minutes of being uploaded.

However, there is no evidence that Deepika ever shared such a Story.

A review of her verified social media accounts and credible reports found no record of the post, while the screenshot also appeared to show signs of digital manipulation.

As the fake screenshot continued to circulate on social media, Deepika’s fans were quick to call out the trolls.

One user wrote, “This Deepika Padukone screenshot is 100% fabricated. She never posted it.”

Another questioned, “How deep is your hate? Sharam kar. She’s pregnant.”

A third wrote, “This post just proves how shameless you are.”

Echoing the same frustration, one commented, “creating fake Deepika Padukone stories to bring hate to her in the final trimester. CHEAP!”

Meanwhile, Wangchuk has entered the 18th day of his hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in Delhi.

He joined the Cockroach Janata Party’s protest over the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak, with protesters calling for Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to resign.

Amid increasing concerns about Wangchuk’s deteriorating health, a petition has been filed before the Delhi High Court seeking permission to force-feed him.

The plea reportedly claims that continuing the fast could put his life at serious risk within the next two days.
