Jaipur: A 55-year-old man’s nose and ear were chopped off by an angry mob in Rajasthan for having got his daughter remarried.
The shocking incident took place at Aadarsh Sondi village in Barmer district late on Tuesday night.
The man, identified as Sukhram Bishnoi, is fighting for his life in a Jodhpur hospital.
Police officer Achlaram Godara said about a dozen people attacked Bishnoi as they were angry with his decision to have her daughter remarried.
Police said the attackers, relatives of the ex-husband of Bishnoi’s daughter, entered Bishnoi’s house forcibly and thrashed him before chopping off his nose, ear and breaking his leg.
The culprits are on the run as police are trying to hunt them down.
A year after her marriage, Bishnoi’s daughter came back to her parents’ home six years ago, never to return.
