Bhubaneswar: In an embarrassment for the Odisha government, a duty list released on Friday for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Subhadra Yojana launch event includes Prabodha Kumar Rout, who passed away more than a year ago.
Rout, who was an OAS officer serving as Administrative Officer at OCAC, died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in July 2023, a few days after a severe accident in front of the Cuttack Collector’s residence.
His name finds mention at the end of the list of 50 OAS officers placed under the disposal of Women and Child Development department and assigned the responsibility of crowd management during the PM’s programme at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar on September 17. “The services of the senior OAS officers are placed under the disposal of the W&CD department to be entrusted for crowd management etc during the visit of Prime Minister to Odisha on September 17 for mega launching of Subhadra Yojana at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar,” the order issued by General Administration and Public Grievance department said.
