Balangir: It seems like Coronavirus is killing humanity with a man forced to carry his father’s body on a cycle for cremation at a village in Balangir district,
The shocking incident was reported from Bhalu Dunguri in Khaprakhol block.
According to sources, Ayodhya Sahu had died on Tuesday after testing COVID positive.
But with the fear of the virus, no one in the village came forward to help the bereaved family.
With no other option, Sahu’s son carried the body on his bicycle to the crematorium and performed his last rites.
Notably, the number of COVID-19 positive cases are increasing by the day in Khaprakhol block.
A similar incident was also reported in Uttar Pradesh recently.
A 70-year-old resident of Amberpur village in Jaunpur, around 275 km from the state capital of Lucknow, had to carry his wife on a bicycle for cremation. His wife had also died of COVID-19.
But, halfway through, the old man could not maintain control over the cycle and fell on the roadside. He was spotted sitting on the road by a policeman, who informed his colleagues.
Finally, the man could cremate the body with the help of policemen and a local Muslim man.
