Cuttack: In a shocking incident, some stray dogs were seen eating the head of an infant in the premises of Sishu Bhaban in Cuttack at around
9 pm on Monday.
According to sources, around four dogs were found eating the infant’s head. The identification and whereabouts of the infant are yet to be ascertained.
According to hospital sources, the parents of the deceased might have buried the dead child somewhere near Sishu Bhaban and later stray dogs pulled the head out of the ground.
However, Sishu Bhaban superintendent said the matter must be investigated.
Earlier, in the first week of July, locals spotted the body of an abandoned newborn, who had been badly mauled by crows and stray dogs at Manguli Chhak in Choudwar of Cuttack district.
Getting information from the locals, the police seized the body and sent it for post-mortem.
It was suspected that the child was abandoned by its parents immediately after birth.
