Bhubaneswar: In a shocking news, a young girl has alleged that she has been raped by her father, who works as a police driver, for four years in Odisha’s Kendrapada district.
As per the complaint filed by the 27-year-old girl at Mahila police station in Bhubaneswar, she was staying with her family in Pattamundai for the last 15 years. Her father, who was working as driver in Pattamundai police station and was transferred to Ali recently, has been raping her on several occasions since 2018, she alleged.
She further stated that though she informed her mother, maternal uncle and paternal uncle in this regard, they silenced her and told her not to reveal the matter to anybody else. When her father came to know about her complaint to the family members, he beat her up and poured boiling gruel on her.
After the police driver again sexually exploited the girl on August 15, she came to stay with one of her friends in Bhubaneswar. Her family told her to return home and even threatened to kill her if she continued to stay with her friend. Feeling insecure by the threat, she filed the complaint at the Mahila police station in the city on September 7.
As the crime was committed in Pattamundai, the case has been shifted to the police station there. The matter came to light after a rape case was registered at Pattamundai police station on September 14 and the media came to know about it on Sunday.
Police have launched an investigation into the complaint against the girl’s father but have not arrested him yet, sources said.
