Sultanpur: Weeks after she was named in a police complaint, international shooter Vartika Singh has moved court accusing Union minister Smriti Irani and two others of demanding money to make her a member of the central women’s commission.
The MP-MLA court will hear the matter on January 2.
In her petition, Vartika alleged that Irani’s ‘aides’ Vijay Gupta and Rajnish Singh issued a fake letter ‘appointing’ her as a member of central women’s commission, and also demanded Rs 1 crore from her before coming down to Rs 25 lakh.
One of the men, the shooter claimed, talked to her in obscene language.
A month ago, Gupta had lodged a complaint against Vartika and another person in Amethi, accusing them of levelling unfounded charges against him and spoiling his image.
Musafirkhana police station had lodged an FIR against the shooter.
However, Vartika claimed that complaint was lodged because she threatened to expose their corruption.
