Cuttack: Bazaar Kolkata shopping mall at CDA Sector 7 in Odisha’s Cuttack city was sealed by the enforcement team of the city’s municipal corporation on Thursday for allegedly flouting building norms.
According to sources, Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) conducted a raid over traffic congestion concerns due to illegal parking at the mall and later sealed the shopping mall for illegal parking and other irregularities in the construction of the building.
Management of the complex was running the mall while paying holding tax for a godown, the sources added.
“The parking space was unauthorised as the area meant for the purpose is being used for running the mall. There were some unauthorised constructions at the complex as well,” CMC deputy commissioner Ajay Mohanty told media persons.
The management was giving holding tax for a godown while running an entire shopping complex, he said, adding that it will remain closed until the management furnishes the required documents.
