Should Continue To Trust Me: Vasundhara Raje’s Remark Stirs Up Political Reactions

Jaipur: Senior BJP leader and former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has once again found herself at the centre of political discussion after remarks made during a public outreach event triggered reactions across party lines.

Raje, who was addressing a gathering during a yatra in Manohar Thana alongside her son Dushyant Singh, spoke about her bond with the people and the everyday grievances they face. She urged people to maintain trust in her leadership, acknowledging that issues such as pensions, housing and compensation delays are common but can be resolved collectively.

“You should continue to maintain love and keep your trust in me. These small issues will keep happening – someone’s house is not getting built, someone’s pension is not bei

ng released, someone hasn’t received compensation. Someone else got it, I didn’t – that also happens. This is the world, it goes on. But, together, we will try to resolve these issues,” she said, as quoted by NDTV.

“I have said, it happens with me too, I could not do anything even for myself. I lost mine. I could not save myself,” she added.

Though her comments were largely routine, they sparked political chatter, with opposition leaders seizing the moment. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot publicly praised Raje, suggesting she would have been a better choice for the top post in the state.

The developments prompted a response from within the BJP as well. Rajasthan BJP president Madan Rathore defended Raje and used a poetic Marwari couplet.

Raje, who is no longer at the forefront of Rajasthan politics after the BJP chose Bhajan Lal Sharma as Chief Minister in 2023, continues to remain an influential figure in the state unit. Her recent remarks and the reactions they triggered have once again highlighted underlying political dynamics within the BJP as well as the opposition’s attempts to exploit them.
