New Delhi: Veteran social activist Anna Hazare has urged the Central government to hold talks with environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk on his demands.
“The government should not test his limits. Say yes or no (to his demands), but what is wrong in holding discussions?” Hazare said in a video message after Wangchuk was taken to Safdarjung Hospital by Delhi Police for treatment on the 21st day of his indefinite hunger strike.
Wangchuk, who joined Cockroach Janta Party’s protest at Jantar Mantar three weeks ago, has been demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET paper leak and irregularities in other exams.
Hazare, now 89, had himself sat on a hunger strike in Delhi, demanding the Lokpal Act. He started the fast on 5th April, 2011 and ended it on 9th April, a day after the UPA government accepted his demands.
