Bhubaneswar: Unfazed by the show cause notice issued to him by Congress over alleged indiscipline, veteran leader and Odisha MLA Suresh Routray on Thursday said he has not done anything wrong and will always remain in the party as a loyal worker.
A day after the state Congress issued him notice, Routray said he will go through it and submit a reply at the earliest.
“I am not worried as I have not done anything wrong. I have all along been a loyal worker in the party and will continue to remain so. I am a 100 per cent Congress man,” the Jatni MLA said.
Stating that he has never gone against the party, Routray said he has not spoken about sale of votes by party leaders but regarding purchase of voters in Padampur bypoll.
Stressing that voters were purchased by the ruling party in Padampur, he said he has not named any party leaders.
“I have never uttered a single word against the party. I will respond to the notice and accept the punishment what party would award,” he added.
Another Congress leader and Cuttack-Barabati MLA Mohammad Moquim, who has also been issued show cause notice, was not available for comment.
It may be noted that Routray had reportedly supported Leader of Opposition and BJP stalwart Jaynarayan Mishra’s allegeation of a BJD-Congress deal for the recent by-election.
