Migrant Workers Escape After Pulling Chain Of Shramik Special Train In Balangir
New Delhi: The Shramik Special trains have crossed a milestone by transporting more than 10 lakh migrant workers back to their home states in less than 15 days, the Railway Ministry said in a release on Thursday.
Indian Railways has operated 800 Shramik Special trains across the country till May 14, the release added.
Proper screening of passengers is ensured before boarding the trains. During the journey, the passengers are given free meals and water.
These 800 trains were terminated in various states such as Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Mizoram, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.
