Angul: A Shramik Special train carrying 1650 migrant workers from Gujarat arrived at Angul Road railway station on Monday morning.
The migrants, hailing from 24 different districts, were screened after getting off the train.
As many as 30 buses were arranged to ferry the migrants to other districts and 20 buses to various blocks of Angul
Notably, it is mandatory for every passenger boarding the train to wear face cover, ensure social distancing norms and hygiene. Meals and drinking water is provided to them by government officials.
A preparatory meeting was earlier held at Circuit House on Sunday afternoon under the chairmanship of Collector Manoj Kumar Mohanty for smooth transport of migrants to quarantine centres in their respective districts.
Angul SP Jagmohan Meena, Additional District Collector Tapan Kumar Satapathy, and Angul Deputy District Collector Basudeb Satapathy attended.
