Shree Jagannath Temple In Odisha’s Puri To Remain Closed For 4 Hours Today

Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple in Odisha’s pilgrim town of Puri will remain out of bounds for devotees for four hours on Monday.

“On July 28, which is Shraavan Shukla Chaturthi Tithi, the ritual of ‘Khasapada Lagi’ of the Holy Deities will be conducted. Therefore, after the completion of the Second Bhog Mandap offering, public darshan will remain temporarily suspended from 6 pm to 10 pm,” the temple administration posted on X.

During this period, entry to the sanctum sanctorum will be restricted.

Khasapada Lagi is performed two to three times a year at the Shreepayars (holy feet) of the deities, who are covered with white clothes for the ritual.
