Bhubaneswar: Shubham Saxena has been appointed as Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner.
The 2013-batch IAS officer, who held the post of BMC Additional Commissioner, will replace Dr Krishan Kumar and take charge on December 24, a notification issued by the General Administration Department said on Friday.
Saxena earlier served as PD DRDA, Mayurbhanj, and Baliguda sub-collector.
The notification also declared that the post of Commissioner is equivalent in status and responsibility to that of deputy secretary to the government.
Kumar, who is the Vice-Chairman of Bhubaneswar Development Authority, will remain in additional charge of Commissioner-Cum-Secretary of Cooperation Department, it aadded.
