Pahandi Lord Jagannath
Puri: The sibling deities will taken to the Adapa Mandap inside Gundicha Temple on Monday evening.
The Pahandi rituals would begin after servitors put up Charamala (ladder made of palm wood) to the chariots.
The sibling deities will carried one after another, staring with Lord Balabhadra followed by Goddess Subhadra and Lord Jagannath, to the temple after the Sandhya Dhoopa ritual. The Adapa Mandap Bije Niti (rituals) will be held thereafter.
Expecting huge footfall, the district administration has taken extra measures to regulate traffic movement during the rituals.
Heavy rain and fear of stampede could in no way deter the ardent devotees of Lord Jagannath as they flocked to the Holy Town for a glimpse of the sibling deities during Rath Yatra on Saturday. Devotees got a chance to view the deities up close on the chariots amid tight security arrangements at Saradhabali all through the night.
The Nandighosa chariot of Lord Jagannath reached Gundicha Temple in Puri on Sunday. It had halted near Balagandi Chhak after the sunset the previous evening.
The chariots of Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra had reached the temple on the day of Rath Yatra.
