Bhubaneswar: Members of Odisha Siksha Sahayak Association on Monday threatened to launch an agitation during the ensuing assembly session if the state government failed to fulfil their six-point charter of demands.
At a meeting held under the chairmanship of association president Malaya Kumar Jena here, various issues faced by nearly 62,000 Siksha Sahayaks across the state were discussed and a resolution to launch a state-wide strike was passed.
“We urge the government to provide permanent employees’ status to all Siksha Sahayaks, extend social security and death benefits to them with immediate effect. Besides, proactive steps should also be taken to regularize those who have been working since 2011,” Jena informed after the meeting.
