Puri: No consensus could be reached on the silver plate design for the eight doors of Jagannath Temple during the meeting between the Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee and different Nijogs here on Tuesday.
Another meeting will be convened on November 9 to finalise the design, sources said.
The meeting, however, decided to begin the work with Sata Pahacha Dwar (gate) first.
“The experience gained from the silver cladding the Sata Pahacha gate will be applied to the other gates. Jay Bijaya Dwar, Kalaahat Dwar and Beheran Dwar will be draped with silver during Sri Gundicha,” temple administrator (development), Ajay Kumar Jena, who presided over the meeting.
Around 2.5 tonnes of silver donated by a devotee from Mumbai will be used for silver cladding all eight gates.
