Bhubaneswar: The Similipal National Park was shut for visitors on Friday with rains lashing several parts of Mayurbhanj district.
“Due to heavy rain and foggy condition, Day Tourism inside Similipal Tiger Reserve has been suspended Today 04th February. Visitors are requested to plan their travel accordingly. The inconvenience caused is deeply regretted,” national park authorities tweeted.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers at many places in North Odisha and a few places in South Odisha on February 4.
It issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms with lighting for one or two places in Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh and Mayurbhanj.
