Similipal National Park In Odisha To Remain Closed Tomorrow

Baripada: Similipal National Park in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district will remain closed for visitors on Sunday due to bad road condition.

Announcing the closure in a release on Saturday, Deputy Director of Similipal, Saikiran, said the roads inside the National Park have been damaged due to unseasonal rains for the last two days.

As the roads have become muddy and slippery, it has been decided not to allow any tourist or wildlife lover to visit the park for their own safety, he said. Both the entry gates through Kalika Prasad and Pithabata would be closed to prevent entry by them, he added.

However, the district administration and Forest department have started the repair work of the roads. The closure was a temporary measure and the park would be reopened after road repair, he added.
