Baripada: The Similipal National Park in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district, which was closed to visitors for 4 months for monsoon, will be reopened from November 1.

According to a release of Similipal Tiger Reserve (STR) on Thursday, the tourists can enter the sanctuary through two gates at Jashipur and Pithabata from 6 am to 9 am every day. While 25 vehicles will be permitted to go inside the sanctuary through Pithabata, 35 can go through Jashipur, it added.

The visitors, who want to stay overnight inside the park, can book dak bungalows online by making an advance payment. For the convenience of the tourists, the park authorities have made arrangements of guides.

But taking plastic and polythene products and liquor inside the park is strictly prohibited.

It may be noted that the park was closed for visitors from June 15 with the onset of the monsoon as the roads inside it get damaged due to rain.
