Singapore: The Garden City celebrated Raksha Bandhan, the special sibling bond, with Odisha in focus on Sunday.
‘Celebration of the Beauty of Odisha’ through its beckoning landscape and villages, spirit of tribal life and rich culture’ was theme of the event organised by Odia Society of Singapore in association with Hindu Centre Singapore.
More than 300 Indians participated in the rakhi-tying programme, celebrating the spirit of brotherhood. Indranee Raja, MP and Cabinet Minister in the Government of Singapore, was the guest of honour.
Many Indian societies also took part in the event, which saw colourful cultural programmes by the Odia Society members. The folk dance performance was appreciated by all.
