Singer-Composer Wajid Khan Passes Away At 42

Mumbai: Wajid Khan of composer duo Sajid-Wajid breathed his last in Mumbai early on Monday due to complications arising from a kidney infection. He was 42.

As soon as the news broke, many from the film fraternity took to Twitter to pay their tributes to the singer-composer, who gained popularity with Salman Khan-starrer ‘Wanted’, ‘Dabangg’ and ‘Ek Tha Tiger’.

Music composer Salim Merchant, who confirmed the news, said he was admitted to Surana Hospital, Chembur, a few days ago. “He was on the ventilator for the last four days, after his situation started getting worse. Kidney infection was the beginning and then he got critical,” Salim told PTI.

Wajid made his Bollywood debut with Salman’s 1998 ‘Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya’ and later made a mark in the industry with ‘Garv’, ‘Tere Naam’, and the popular ‘Dabangg’ series.
