Mumbai: As movie buffs eagerly wait for the sequels of two blockbuster movies — ‘Singham Again’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ — the makers are leaving no stone unturned to attract bigger audiences to their respective film.
With the two movies set to release on November 1, makers of both projects are seeking more screens.
According to a report in The Indian Express, ‘Singham Again’ director Rohit Shetty has requested the biggest theatre chain PVR INOX to allocate 60% of the screens to his film.
“Furthermore, certain single-screen theatres have been asked to dedicate all shows to Singham Again, with some allowed to screen Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 only in early morning slots,” a source was quoted as saying.
On the other hand, the makers of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ have approached the Competition Commission of India (CCI) for an equal distribution of screens for both movies.
Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series has requested CCI for a 50-50 allocation of screens to the movies.
CCI is responsible for promoting “economic growth and consumer welfare through healthy competition.”
‘Singham Again’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3′ have their own fan base, and their prequels had left cash registers ringing at the box-office.
The clash in release dates has the makers a tad worried.
Kartik Aaryan’s ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ is a horror comedy, whereas Ajay Devgn’s ‘Singham Again’ is a multi-starrer cop flick.
