Bhubaneswar: Odisha on Wednesday reported a big spike with 1,122 fresh infections being reported in the last 24 hours, the highest single-day tally in five months.
The state had seen 945 new cases on Tuesday, 816 cases on Monday and 872 on Sunday after the number surged past 1000 for two days.
According to the I & PR department, 658 are from quarantine and 464 local transmission cases. Among them, 164 are in the age group of 0-18 years. Khurda has reported the highest of 307 cases followed by Sundargarh (197) and Cuttack (132).

With these cases being detected from 22,101 samples, the test positivity rate stood at 5.07%. Odisha now has 6701 active cases with 2,204 alone in Khurda.
