SIT On Black Money To Meet Tomorrow

Cuttack: The meeting of the Special Investigation Team (SIT), appointed by the Supreme Court, on the issue of black money will be held in Cuttack on Saturday.

The meeting, chaired by SIT vice chairman Justice Arijit Pasayat, will be attended by senior police officers and representatives of investigating agencies like Crime Branch, Enforcement Directorate, Income Tax, Intelligence and Central Revenue Department.

This will be the ninth meeting of the SIT. It is likely to bring issues pertaining to illegal financial transactions by individuals to the table, besides throwing light on the progress of investigation of chit fund cases.

At the previous meeting, held on May 2 last year, the SIT had made various recommendations to the Union Government to detect black money stashed within the country and abroad.
