Cuttack: Vice-Chairman of the Supreme Court-appointed Special Investigation Team (SIT) on black money, Justice Arijit Pasayat, on Saturday said that an interim report on the black money used during the General and Assembly elections last year will be submitted to the apex court within two months.
Briefing mediapersons after presiding over a meeting on this matter at his residence here, he said that investigating agencies like Crime Branch, Enforcement Directorate, Income Tax, Intelligence and Central Revenue Department in their report have stated rampant use of black money, jewellery and drugs during the elections.
“I will go through the reports of these probe agencies and submit the interim report to the Supreme Court within two months, he said.
The SIT has so far submitted its sixth interim report to the apex court.
The Supreme Court on May 1, 2014, had appointed two retired judges, Justice MB Shah and Justice Pasayat as chairman and vice-chairman of SIT to investigate the stashing away of black money in foreign banks and suggest ways to bring it back to India.
