Balasore: Six persons reportedly went missing after two boats capsized in the sea at Jaleswar area in Balasore district on Sunday.
According to sources, as many as 17 fishermen from Kirtania jetty in Bhograi had ventured into deep waters for fishing in two separate boats. Both the boats capsized due to bad weather and strong winds.
Later, 11 among them managed to swim back to shore.
Efforts are on by police and fire personnel to rescue those missing.
“It is unfortunate that the fishermen had gone to the sea despite being cautioned by the meteorological department due to rough sea conditions,” a local resident said.
