Rourkela: Six persons were injured, two of them seriously, in an explosion at Telugu Basti of Madhusudanpalli area in Rourkela on Monday.
Those critical were rushed to Ispat General Hospital (IGH).
More than ten houses were also gutted in the incident.
On being alerted, fire personnel and police rushed to the spot and started operation to rescue those trapped under the debris.
Though the exact reason behind the incident is not yet known, locals suspect that the mishap might have occured after a gas cylinder connected with some firecrackers exploded.
