Salepur: Police arrested six members of an inter-state dacoit gang from Salepur in Cuttack district on Friday afternoon.
Two live bombs, two guns, eight cell phones and several other arms were seized from their possession.
“Following a tip-off about their presence in Salepur, a police team conducted simultaneous raids at different places and nabbed them from their hideout,” a senior police officer said.
Police were on the lookout for the gang, which was involved in a number of loot cases in Cuttack and nearby areas, the officer added.
Meanwhile, Madhupatna police in Cuttack busted a sex racket at Rajendra Nagar with the arrest of one person. Five girls were rescued from the spot.
