Balangir: As many as six persons of a family were critically injured in an LPG cylinder explosion in Odisha’s Balangir district on Saturday.
As per reports, the incident took place at Kanut Uparapada village under Belapada police station in the district. The family comprising five women and a youth were watching television in their house in the afternoon when the gas cylinder in the kitchen exploded.
The locals rushed to the house on hearing the blast and rushed all six persons injured in the explosion to the community health centre (CHC) at Kantabanji. Their condition is stated to be critical.
On being informed, a team from Belapada police station went to the house and started an investigation. From preliminary investigation, they found several cracks on the walls of the house. But the cause of explosion has not been confirmed.
