Balasore: An advanced version of Pinaka Missile System was successfully flight tested from Integrated Test Range in Chandipur, off Odisha coast on Wednesday.
The extended range version of the missile developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) achieved a range beyond 45 km.
According to ANI, six rockets were launched in quick succession and the tests meet all mission objectives.
The enhanced version of the rocket would replace the existing Pinaka Mk-I rockets.
Pinaka is a free flight artillery rocket system having a range of 37.5 km. The rockets are launched from a multi-barrel rocket launcher with a capability to launch 12 rockets in 44 seconds.
