Puri: Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has decided to make a documentation of this year’s Rath Yatra through video, still pictures and book.
Announcing this after attending a meeting of Jagannath Temple Managing Committee and Chhattish Nijog here on Tuesday, chief administrator of SJTA Krishan Kumar told the mediapersons that this year’s Rath Yatra was a historic one considering the circumstances under which it was organised.
Besides absence of devotees, there were several other aspects which were never practised in the history of the Rath Yatra. All those aspects and the entire process from construction of the chariots of Lord Jagannath and His siblings to Niladri Bije will be documented for posterity, Kumar said.
A sub-committee of the temple administration will be assigned the responsibility of documentation. The members of the sub-committee will hold a meeting in seven days to decide their next course of action, Kumar said.
