Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has decided to work on a micro work plan for repair and maintenance of the Jagannath Temple here.
The plan has been jointly developed by Archaeological Survey of India and Works department.
This was decided at the annual meeting of the SJTA under the chairmanship of Chief Administrator, Dr Krishan Kumar.
A 5-year action plan will also be created for comprehensive conservation of the sub-shrines (Parshava debata temples) and other parts of the main temple complex.
The annual repair and restoration works will be taken up inside sanctum sanctorum (Garbha Gruha) and other parts of the temple in strict adherence to COVID protocol. A work plan will be jointly developed by ASI and Works department in this regard, officials said in the meeting.
Additional DG, ASI, Janhwij Sharma and Director, Science Conservation, ASI, Dr Ramji Nigam represented ASI.
Renowned external experts including Dr AP Gupta, former Professor & HOD, IIT Kharagpur and Chairman of Technical Core Committee, D P Mishra, Bindheswar Patra and Dr B K Ratha were present at the meeting.
