Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has requested the Odisha government to provide free COVID-19 vaccination to the sevayats of the temple and their families.
In a letter to Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare department Pradipta Mohapatra, the temple administration has said as the state government has allowed the devotees outside Odisha for darshan of the Lords without showing COVID-19 negative report, the entry of some asymptomatic devotees to the temple cannot be ruled out.
Keeping this in view, it requested Mohapatra to make provisions for free vaccination of all the temple sevayats and their family members as a preventive measure.
Apart from this, the temple administration has requested free vaccination for 500 temple employees.
