Balasore: People of a village in Jaleswar area of Odisha’s Balasore district were shocked to find a human skeleton in the village pond.
Sources said, the villagers drained out the water from the pond to catch fish on Friday. As water receded, the skeleton came into view, leaving locals shocked.
They informed Jaleswar police in this regard. However, it is not yet clear as to how the skeleton came to the pond or if it is a case of suicide or murder. Police started an investigation into the matter.
Police officials questioned some locals about any person having drowned in the pond in the past. Police are also looking at the possible murder angle.
Police are now trying to ascertain if the skeleton was that of a man of woman. Possible murder angle is being looked into, a police official said.
