Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police will put up sketches of the unidentified woman, whose skeletal remains were found inside a seized vehicle on Janla outpost premises, at all police station once it arrives from Hyderabad after skull mapping, DCP Uma Shankar Das informed on Tuesday.
“We have recorded the statements of Jatni police station IIC and suspended Janla outpost in-charge Satyabrata Grahacharya in connection with the incident,” he added.
The skeletal remains were found last month after the owner came to take possession of the vehicle following a court order. Police suspect that a destitute woman aged about 45 years possibly took shelter inside the white colour SUV during the winter and died due to some ailment. Her autopsy report indicated that she was suffering from tuberculosis.
The four-wheeler was seized in 2019 in connection with a ganja smuggling case. Rambha police in Ganjam district had left behind the vehicle at Janla police outpost as its driver had fled and they had no key.
