Skipper Rani Rampal Among 7 Women Hockey Players To Test COVID positive

New Delhi: Skipper Rani Rampal was among seven members of the Indian women’s hockey team to have tested positive for COVID-19. Two members of the support staff have also contracted the virus.

According to a press release, the group of nine was tested on April 24 post quarantine, after they returned from their respective hometowns to the training base at SAI Bengaluru.

Rani apart, the other players to have been infected with coronavirus are Savita Punia, Sharmila Devi, Rajani, Navjot Kaur, Navneet Kaur and Sushila. The support staff to be infected are video analyst Amrutaprakash and scientific advisor Wayne Lombard.

All nine are asymptomatic. They have been isolated and kept under observation at the SAI National Centre of Excellence, Bengaluru.
