In a bid to boost sales, Skoda has launched a special edition of its executive sedan – Rapid. The new model is priced Rs one lakh lesser than the base variant of the current line-up.
The special-edition Skoda Rapid Rider comes with a 1.6-litre petrol engine that is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The engine produces 105hp power and 153Nm of peak torque.
The car is available only in Candy White and Carbon Steel exterior paint shades with an all-black grille, black decals, blacked-out B-pillars, and scuff plates with ‘Rapid’ inscription. There are no alloy wheels. The 15-inch steel wheels come with wheel covers.
The interior is a dual tone theme of Ebony Sand (black) dashboard and Ivory Slate (white) upholstery.
It features dual front airbags, ABS, rear parking sensors, an anti-glare rear view mirror, remote central locking, a front and rear-centre armrest, tilt and telescopic adjustable power steering, a 2-DIN audio system that is USB AUX and Bluetooth compatible, four speakers, and rear AC vents.
With this price, Skoda has undercut most sedans and even some budget sedans.
