Cuttack: The Orissa High Court on Monday granted conditional bail to suspended IFS officer Abhay Kant Pathak and his son, Akash, in connection with a cheating case lodged by travel agency Sky King at the Kharvela Nagar Police station in Bhubaneswar.
The court granted bail to the father-son duo on a surety bond of Rs 2 lakh, but asked them to cooperate with the police in the investigation and not intimidate witnesses.
According to the complaint lodged by Sky King, Pathak and his son had booked chartered flights, five-star hotels and air tickets amounting to Rs 2.78 crore. Of this, they had paid Rs 2.13 crore and an outstanding bill of Rs 65,16,233 is yet to be cleared.
Acting on the complaint, the Commissionerate Police had taken the duo on a four-day remand on December 17, 2020.
