Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID-19 caseload in the capital city dropped slightly on Friday compared to Thursday as 231 persons tested positive for the disease in the last 24 hours.
The city had reported 233 positive cases on Thursday, 209 on Wednesday, 194 on Tuesday, 144 on Monday, 158 on Sunday, 141 on Saturday and 191 on Friday.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 67 of the new patients on the day are from quarantine and 164 local contacts.
Of the local contacts, maximum 10 cases were reported from Jharpada, followed by 9 from 9 cases each from Chandrasekharpur and Saheed Nagar and 8 each from Kalinga Nagar and Sailashree Vihar.
The active cases stood at 3,633 while total 1,16,920 people have been infected by the virus so far.
