Bhubaneswar: After witnessing an upward trend for three days, the daily COVID cases in Odisha dropped slightly on Saturda


y with 42 positives in the last 24 hours against 44 on Friday and 41 on Thursday.

According to the I & PR Department, 24 of the new cases are from quarantine and 18 are local contacts. Among them, only six belong to the 0-18 years age group.

Here is the district-wise tally of new cases:

3. Jagatsinghpur: 3
4. Kalahandi: 1
5. Khurda: 2
6. Koraput: 1
7. Mayurbhanj: 1
8. Nabarangpur: 3
9. Nayagarh: 2
10. Puri: 3
11. Sambalpur: 2
12. Sonepur: 1
13. Sundargarh: 18

Notably, no COVID cases have been reported from the state pool.

With these cases being detected from 9,367 samples, the test positivity rate stood at 0.44%. With 55 recoveries in the last 24 hours, Odisha now has 306 active cases.
