Slippers Thrown At Odisha Law Minister Facing Heat In Double Murder Case; Check Where It Happened

Cuttack: A man allegedly hurled slippers at BJD leader and state Law Minister Pratap Jena at a programme he was attending on Sunday. The incident took place in his home constituency Mahanga in Cuttack district at Sarat Ustav in Erakana.

A man allegedly hurled slippers at Jena, who was sitting on the dais after addressing the audience. The slippers missed the minister and hit his security personnel, sources said.

Police have detained the accused, according to reports.

The minister has been facing political heat over the sensational Mahanga double murder case, in which BJP leader Kulamani Baral and his associate Dibyasingha Baral were brutally murdered in Mahanga in January this year.

A local court has ordered a reinvestigation into the case after the minister’s name was dropped from the chargesheet, which was challenged in court.
